PRiZM Lifestyle

PRiZM Lifestyle profiles are built from lifestyle and demographic data at postcode level and have recently been updated and rebuilt. PRiZM is a highly predictive segmentation system. With PRiZM you can profile your most profitable customers, increase their lifetime value to you and find others just like them.

PRiZM has been created by Claritas from two key market drivers - lifestage and income, which are then overlaid with lifestyle interests. PRiZM is built from the most recent Claritas survey data, and is updated annually.

With PRiZM you can:

  • identify potential for your product or service in any area
  • develop new products and services to match customer needs
  • create promotional campaigns with the right offer, message and creative treatment
  • plan national and local media to reach prospects most likely to become customers
  • arrange door drop campaigns geographically by profiling high potential areas for your product
  • select prospects for national mailings
  • drive targeted telemarketing campaigns
  • select the best targets for cross-selling and up-selling
  • identify and target customers most likely to defect to reduce churn

PRiZM profiles can be supplied to suit any geographic area:

  • ORC’s hex-based retail centre catchments
  • postal sectors
  • new Census output areas
  • drivetime
  • drive distance
  • radii
  • travel to work areas (TTWA)

More about PRiZM

PRiZM divides postcodes into 60 distinct clusters in 16 broad groups based on lifestage and income, which are then overlaid with lifestyle interests.

A 5-character code defines each PRiZM cluster. The first and second characters indicate lifestage. These are:

PA:   starting out, young singles and childless couples

PB:   established families with school age children

     PC:   empty nesters

     PD:   retired singles and couples

The third character is an income indicator:

     1:  most affluent households

     2:  mid-high affluent households

     3:   mid-low affluent households

     4:  least affluent households

The fourth and fifth characters comprise a unique lifestyle description of the cluster.
