ORC’s Houshold Expenditure data covers over 40 categories of household expenditure. The data is derived from the Family Expenditure Survey (FES), which is undertaken annually by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) - the most consistent and detailed source of this type of data. The current data uses the 2001-2002 survey results.  Expenditure categories available are listed at the end of this section.

Regional spend by product category is brought together with income profiles at post code level within ORC’s hexagonal geography.  Spend, household numbers and income profiles are updated annually.
